Painting by Willa MartenWilla Marten is currently a resident of Point Arena, California, after spending 30 years as a studio artist in Boston and San Francisco. She was co-owner and designer of J. S. Marten Company with her husband, John, from 1978-1993, specializing in pewter castings, jewelry, and small sculpture. She continues to design and produce custom work from her home in Point Arena. Her pewter work is available at galleries and craft events, including the Dolphin and Local Color galleries in Gualala; Artisans in Mill Valley; Millennium Arts in Sebastapol; The Oakland Museum shop, Oakland; and at The Craftsman's Guild in San Francisco.

In recent years, Willa has returned to her former style of drawing and painting the figure and portraits, incorporating lyrics inspired by the lives and poetry of friends.

Trained in painting and jewelry design at Skidmore College and design at the Boston Architectural Center, Willa currently serves on the board of directors of the Gualala Art Center, and on the construction committee of the Point Arena Art Center.
