Marji Ingersoll moved to Frankfurt, Germany, in 1970 where she studied art at the Kuntschule West Institute. Returning from Europe, she moved to Santa Barbara, California, and exhibited weekly at the Santa Barbara Sunday Beach Exhibit. In January 1991, she opened her tile studio/gallery in Gualala, California, where she designs and produces custom tile murals. In 1997, she co-founded the Gualala Arts' North Coast Artists' Guild. In 1998 & 2002, she was the Gualala Arts' Studio Discovery Tour Director and in 1999-2001, she was a tour consultant. In 2001-2002 she taught 3 Art-in-the-Schools tile mural projects with 3rd-4th-5th graders in Point Arena and Manchester.
Marji Ingersoll is a member of the Tile Heritage Foundation and the Gualala Arts Center. She is a board member of the Gualala Arts' North Coast Artists' Guild. She lives with her husband in The Sea Ranch.

I use both underglazes and glazes to get the rich colors on my tiles. I like working with people and designing something for their home or garden.
