 Chris Crane is an artist who thrives on the complexity in life. Chris finds herself to be most productive and creative, utilizing somewhat divergent but overlapping styles. Trained in biological illustration, she is accomplished with pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, and is comfortable with the task of documenting a subject, adding emphasis where appropriate. She has found that when working with nature, the results are most fulfilling when she can "enter" the subject, a multi-dimensional experience of "seeing" with every sense.

Chris also works with collaged images. Using Xerography to multiply images (that are often arch typal), sometimes generationally (copies of copies of copies with resulting disintegration of the original), the results can be disturbing and emotioanally raw. A very versatile artist, Chris graduated from Sonoma State University with a B.A. in studio art with emphasis on drawing. An award winner at Art in the Redwoods, she has since been professionally engaged in graphic and product design as well as freelance and commissioned work.
